United Airlines and Delta are showing flights from Kelowna to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for $647 to $687 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
This is a new record for the cheapest flights from Kelowna to Rio de Janeiro.
The $647 CAD flights are in April and May 2016. But what might be even more interesting is that June 2016 flights have dropped to $687 CAD roundtrip. This is interesting because Brazil is waiving the visa requirement for tourists visiting between June 1 and September 18, 2016, due to the Summer Olympics.
Normally, an expensive visa is required to visit Brazil, and can take a while to get. During the June-September exemption period, a valid Canadian passport will be the only document required to visit Brazil.
This could be a rare opportunity to take advantage of historically low airfares to Rio de Janeiro, without having to worry about getting a visa in time.
A ticket to the Olympic games is not required for the visa-free entry.
I know, I know, it's gotta be the Zika scare, right? That certainly can't help prices, although it should be noted that there's been some unusually low fares to Brazil since the summer of 2015, well before the media latched on to the Zika story.

How to find and book these flights
1. Find cheap date combinations with Google Flights using a search like this...

2. Once you've found your dates on Google Flights, try searching for the same dates on Kayak and then clicking through to the Delta or United website for booking. I would use a flexible date search when you get to Kayak.
I've been seeing currency issues when going from Kayak to the United website. Sometimes the price seems to come up in $USD instead of $CAD. Once your dates are narrowed down you may also want to try going to www.United.ca directly and searching there.
You may also be able to go directly from your Google Flights search to the Delta or United website.
These are also showing up on FlightNetwork.com (which has price drop protection) and ITravel2000.com - although it seems like on some dates, only the Delta flights are showing up.

Update 4/22 @ 9:47 AM PST - July and August 2016 dates are now available for $669 CAD roundtrip including taxes!
1. Look for cheap date combinations on Google Flights with a search like this one...

2. Go to FlightNetwork.com and try searching for the same dates.
3. Use the Flight Network promo code to take off another $10.

4. You can bring the price down another $10 CAD once you get to Flight Network by using the promo code: 3P10OFF321
You'll find the spot to enter the promo code on the passenger details page (after you've selected the flight). It can be difficult to find.

Important visa info for anyone traveling to Brazil outside the visa exemption period
Canadians (normally) require a visa to visit Brazil. It costs $95. Details on how to apply for and obtain one from the consulate in Vancouver can be found here.
Flying into Rio de Janeiro, and out of Sao Paulo
You can also try a multi-city flight search, flying into Rio de Janeiro (GIG) and back home out of Sao Paulo (SAO). The price of the flight may work out to about the same as a roundtrip flight.
