There's a super cheap flight from Air Canada Vacations, to the Dominican Republic.

Note that it requires an overnight stay in Calgary each way, so this deal might only be useful for someone that has some friends or family in Calgary that can put them up for the night.

January 18-25 appears to be cheap as well.
